Transitioning to directing, Cervi made his debut with the spaghetti Western Today We Kill, Tomorrow We Die! (1968), starring Bud Spencer. He achieved box office success with films like The Miser (1990) and Il malato immaginario (1979), both featuring Alberto Sordi. Cervi passed away on April 1, 2002, in Rapolano Terme, Italy.
