Helena has subsequently released the feature films ‘Extranjeras’ (2003), whose background deals with the phenomenon of emigration; ‘La buena nueva’ (2008), about historical memory and the civil war; ‘Nagore’ (2010), which proposes a reflection on gender violence; ‘Acantilado’ (2016), which delves into the universe of sects; and ‘Varados’ (2019), about the current situation of refugees. The deep-rooted social issues, chosen as a backdrop for his films, strike and move, generating complicity and provoking reflection in viewers from different countries and cultures.
