England, 19th Century — Sebastian Michaelis, the loyal butler of the distinguished Phantomhive family, works alongside his 13-year-old master, Ciel Phantomhive as the “Queen’s Watchdog,” carrying out the dirty work of the underworld on Her Majesty’s behalf. When a string of inexplicable deaths in Germany draws the Queen’s attention, Sebastian and Ciel are dispatched to uncover the truth.
