The protagonist is a former ordinary person who married the daughter of a yakuza boss and became unwillingly entangled with the underworld. The portrayal of the yakuza world, its organizations, and its characters from the perspective of a man not yet fully steeped in violence is fascinating. The Ryusei-kai, led by Yajima Joji, is targeted by yakuza organizations from both the east and west.
