The 1930s: a gravedigger and his young apprentice unwind inside an old cabin in the middle of the cemetery. They have spent the day burying the corpse of a beautiful young woman. A shrill voice shatters the still, moonless night: the men understand that the girl is still alive. The apprentice jumps up to save her, but the gravedigger has a lesson in store for the young man.
