CEO Ramsey Jr. ruthlessly dismisses the deserving vice president of his company, Ramsey & Co. Andrew Sloane, who has sacrificed himself for the company for decades, no longer fits his image of a determined, success-oriented manager. Sloane is to be replaced by the young Fred Staples, whom Ramsey ruthlessly promotes as the "new man."
