Before embarking on her acting career, Kalyani pursued her education in the United States. She studied architecture at Parsons School of Design in New York City and also attended an acting course at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute. During her time in the U.S., she gained valuable experience working as an assistant production designer on films like "Krrish 3" (2013) and "Iru Mugan" (2016), which provided her with a solid foundation in the film industry. Kalyani made her acting debut with the Telugu film "Hello" (2017), directed by Vikram Kumar. Her portrayal of Priya garnered widespread acclaim and earned her the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut – South, marking a promising start to her career. Following her debut, Kalyani continued to impress with her performances in several Telugu films. In 2019, she starred in "Chitralahari," directed by Kishore Tirumala, and "Ranarangam," directed by Sudheer Varma.
